Smartjosh.com was the website of Joshua Targownik who is a commercial photographer in Los Angeles. He has been taking photos for the best part of ten years but has been in the professional business since 2007. Previously an engineer it was only eight months since starting as a professional photographer that he was breaking even.
A keen traveller and outdoor enthusiast Josh’s aim is to keep taking more and more prestigious shots that ultimately create more money so that he can spend time following these interests. It was in these outdoor locations that he had the urge to start taking pictures. Having borrowed a Canon AE-1 from his father he started on his path to commercially photography.
Before his photography days Joshua Targownik was a designer of cars for Honda amongst other things. He has been a car-racing mechanic; he sold rock climbing and mountaineering equipment and is even an aeroplane pilot. If this is enough he is starting an internal course at a top Los Angeles restaurant with top chefs. He is just keen to learn and experience as many different trades and skills as possible.
